This Rosso di Montalcino is made of 100% Sangiovese Grosso from the vineyards located at 350 asl in Santa Restituita, in the southern part of Montalcino.
This is one of the warmest corners of the Montalcino DOC, where the Tyrrean sea winds mitigates the cold winters and hot summers, protecting the vineyards from springs' frosts and diseases caused by rain and humidity -so no chemical treatments are used in the vineyards-.
Because of this wonderful terroir, the Fattoi family don't need to fuss so much in the cellar. They prefer to keep a traditional and light intervention approach to preserve all the characteristics of this corner of DOC in the glass.
The 2021 was a great year. In the wine this is reflected by a good depth unleashing its noble elegance but maintaining a jovial frankness. A kaleidoscopic succession of fruity, floral, spicy and mineral sensations, which are clearly showing up at every sip, enveloping and framed by a fine tannic texture.
