Kollektion: Antico Broilo - Friuli

Just exchange a few words and a glance with Massimo Durì to understand the passion that animates him, from the vine to the chai. He considers the 6 hectares of vines in the family estate as a garden and their wines as handicrafts. Every plant, every bottle, is cared to deliver the highest quality.

Once guided by his father Giovanni, Massimo has now become the true co-crew. They continually refine and improve their wine approach. Already certified organic, the domain now follows a natural wine methodology that tends to best value the characteristics of the native grape varieties they cultivate. This translates in spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts. Vinification with skin maceration. Aging in stainless steel vats for a dozen months.

Present for five generations in the locality of Prepotto, a land favorable to the culture of the indigenous red varieties of Friulian, the Durì represent the balance between typicality and modernity.

This area, besides being recognised as one of the best area in the world for white wines, is mostly known for its roots and tradition in making natural wines (Gravner for example). On top of the whites, in the cellar Massimo is showcasing all his passion for red grapes. Massimo, indeed, defines himself as a red wine hermit in a land of white enthusiasts. In the years he has been fine-tuning a lot to find the best mix. An exmaple, he selects the barrels according to the different toasting, thickness and small characteristics that only a meticulous producer knows. Refosco, Merlot, Schioppettino, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Franc rest in the 162 barriques. Part of the barrique are used also for his whites.

Direct, powerful, elegant wine that represent very well the Friuli terroir.

Salute!
